Dear Yvette,

You know they hurt you. You know they were wrong. You know you should forgive. But you cannot. Or will not. What if the power to forgive is not something you have to find within yourself?

Was there ever a time you had difficulty forgiving someone? Did you think, "Why should I forgive them?" What made you hesitant to forgive? Was your reason valid?

What struggle weighs on you? What hurt do you replay in your mind?

You are not alone. We all have been in that place. Yet for some reason, we survived. Everyone says life is too short. So why hold onto the grief that hurt gives you?

Sometimes we need help. This verse reminds us of God's provision when we struggle:

"Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:11-13, ESV).

Think on this truth. Know you are not alone. You can get through anything.

God provides the strength you need to forgive when your own strength fails.

What would change if you surrendered control and trusted His strength instead?
