Hello Yvette:

Halfway through 2026. Where did the time go? You watch friends face illness, celebrate new births and weddings, lose loved ones, and push through endless challenges. You try to fix everything yourself. But nothing changes. What if the answer has been there all along, and you just forgot to look up?

As we head toward the halfway mark of 2026, we realize how quickly time passes. People we know face illnesses, welcome new family members, keep busy with work or volunteer efforts, and grieve losses. The list goes on.

Through it all, if you believe in Jesus, we often forget to put God first in everything we do and everything we go through, whether we feel frustrated, worried, or unhappy.

Life gives us challenges. We keep trying to fix things ourselves. Do you ever wonder why that approach does not work?

What I do is pray for His help. It does not mean everything will be fixed right away, but in His time, not mine.

Forgiveness is not always easy. It is something I continually work on with family and friends. You are not alone in this journey. We all have our challenges with others, but through His grace and love, we can get through them.

I would love to share these verses with you to ponder: "I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:12-13, ESV).

Through our faith in God, we can face whatever challenges come our way.

What challenge would feel lighter if you stopped trying to carry it alone?
