Hello Yvette:
One year ago, I sent the first Forgiveness Friday newsletter. Since then, you have walked this journey with me week after week. Today, I want to take you back to where it all began. Because some truths deserve to be remembered again and again.
It has been about a year since I started to write the Forgiveness Friday newsletter. I thought I would revisit the first newsletter sent to all of you. Hearts need to heal, and this is something we must be aware of each and every day.
When Hearts Need to Heal
When someone wounds your heart, your natural response might be to shut down or pull away. Mercy and grace can feel distant, especially when you believe you have been wronged.
Even in these difficult moments, Jesus reminds us: forgive, just as He has forgiven you.
Forgiveness does not mean you ignore your pain or pretend all is well. Rather, it is a brave choice to walk in peace instead of to remain trapped in bitterness.
Often, we carry the burden of an unforgiven heart far longer than the person who caused the hurt. This weight, quiet but heavy, can shape our lives in ways we may not even notice.
The path to forgiveness takes courage and time. It rarely happens all at once.
But when you choose to forgive, peace begins to fill the spaces where pain once ruled. The past loosens its hold, and healing can finally start.
What weight of unforgiveness have you kept, and how might your life change if you chose to set it down?
Remember, you are never alone on this path. God walks beside you each step of the way and offers endless grace and strength when yours feels low.
