Hello Yvette:

Your plans collapse. Technology fails. People disappoint you. Your first instinct is anger. But what if there is a better way to respond when everything falls apart?

When something happens and you feel wronged by another, I have always found prayer to be powerful because you bring that situation or problem to the Lord. He may not fix it right away, but what I have discovered is the inner peace you receive just from praying for the other person or asking Him to help you through it. Before you know it, you feel at ease and peaceful.

This week tested me. I promised you news about the next chapter in my life, but my new email company failed to deliver. Some of you received the email, while many of you did not.

I could have become angry or tried to call them, but now you can only chat with someone online—no personal touch. I could have cancelled my subscription with this email software company entirely.

But instead, I prayed for peace within myself and chose to forgive myself for how I was feeling. I prayed and received that peace. The anger faded away.

The problem is still being worked on, but having God in my life helps me get through it all.

Please remember Easter this Sunday and the verse that touches my heart: "And Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do'" (Luke 23:34, ESV). Despite the terrible wrongs done to Jesus, He forgave.

For those who did not receive last Tuesday's email as promised, please find it pasted below my signature.

Thank you for always taking the time to read this newsletter.

What anger could you release today by choosing prayer over reaction?

Launching Something New: The Story Behind Artisan Sweet

I want to share a memory that shaped how I see beauty, design, and the objects we use every day. It's a story that eventually led me to create something I am excited to share with you.

A Memory from the Late 90s

It was the late 90s, and my mother had decided to sell the house I grew up in. The realtor suggested something that wasn't common back then: to stage the house. We did not know much about it, but we trusted the process.

When the stager finished, I walked through each room and took in the changes. But it was the dining room table that stopped me in my tracks.

Everything she had placed on that table was different. None of it matched in the traditional sense, yet somehow it all worked together beautifully. The patterns, the colors, the textures created something I had never seen before.

The Lesson That Stayed

This was before cell phones could capture moments with a quick photo. I had no way to preserve what she created. To this day, I try to replicate that table from memory, but I can never quite get it right.

What remains, though, is the lesson I learned that day: everything does not have to match to be beautiful. In fact, the unexpected combinations often create the most memorable moments.

That realization changed how I approach gatherings. Whether I set the table for brunch, dinner, or holiday celebrations, I embrace the beauty of pieces that tell different stories yet come together to create something meaningful.

17+ Years of Discovery

This philosophy followed me throughout my career.

For 17+ years, I worked in the promotional products industry and helped businesses find the right items to represent their brands. I saw thousands of products come and go. I learned what people keep and what ends up forgotten in a drawer.

I discovered that the pieces people treasure are the ones that carry meaning, tell a story, or bring unexpected beauty into their daily lives.

I Need Your Help

Now, as I build Artisan Sweet, I would love your help with something.

Are you ready to elevate every sip and celebration? I have created a quick 2-minute scorecard to help you discover your signature style when you gather with others.

Take the scorecard and discover whether you are an Effortless Host, Thoughtful Curator, Bold Entertainer, or Sentimental Collector.

[Take the Scorecard: "What's Your Entertaining Style (And What Drinkware Matches It)?"]

Your Entertaining Style Scorecard

Your insights would be incredibly helpful as we continue to build Artisan Sweet around the way real people gather and celebrate.

Plus, you will discover which drinkware styles align with your natural approach when you host. Feel free to share this scorecard with friends or family who might enjoy discovering their style too.

But Wait... What Does This Have to Do With Drinkware?

But here is what you might be wondering: what does a staged dining room table from the 90s have to do with drinkware?

It took one more moment, one more conversation years later, to connect all of these experiences into a vision I could not ignore. A moment that changed everything about how I see art, creativity, and the objects we use every day.

Next week, I will share that conversation and reveal how Artisan Sweet came to exist.

Here is to beauty in every sip,
